Wedding Consultations

Please contact us to arrange a design and tasting consultation where you can sample some of our delicious flavours, view our elegant wedding cakes, and discuss your ideas and requirements.

1 to 1 consultations are by appointment only. Alternatively, we do offer the same design service by email.

It is helpful to have made venue, colour and floral decisions prior to your consultation so we have that information available. To assist us with the design of your cake please bring along any elements you would like incorporated into the design, such as colour swatches, your invitations, a picture of your flowers or a sample of your dress material.

Wedding portion sizes/servings are typically 1x1″. If you are serving the cake as dessert you may wish to service party portions of 1x2". You should consider whether the cake will be served on it’s own or accompanied by something else, such as cream and fresh fruit. Don’t forget, you may want to keep a bit extra for the next day or two so you can enjoy it after your celebration as well.

Cake Finishes

Fondant is a smooth icing which is rolled out to around 3-4mm thick then placed over a buttercream or ganache coated cake. It is our most popular finish as it creates a perfect blank canvas on which to decorate. It also helps to retain the freshness and moisture of the cake

Buttercream covered cakes are simply coated with a generous delicious layer of buttercream. These dessert cakes are a great option if you are not a fan of fondant. Due to the nature of the buttercream, they are not suited to warm days unless they can be kept in an air-conditioned environment out of direct sunlight.

Naked and Semi naked cakes are very minimalistic when it comes to the finish. We prefer semi-naked finishes over bare cakes as the thin scraping over buttercream or ganache around the outside helps keep the cake more moist.

If you wish to keep the cakes a day or two after the event, we recommend opting for a fully coated buttercream cake or ideally a fondant cake.
